Halfway and HOT!

....and not in a sexy way. Truth is I am a bit of a whale but I am doing my best to just embrace my changing body! And Ryan is doing his best to lie to me and tell me how darling I look every day. LOVE HIM! Also, my temperature is going through the roof! It isn't even May yet! This will be a long HOT summer, but I am looking forward to every minute of it! We are doing great and are so excited for our baby girl to come! This post is a little delayed, I had every intention of posting it on my halfway mark (20 weeks along last Saturday) but I got sidetracked and had to much fun with my mom shopping for baby girl! So here is my list of funny things that I have noticed thus far in my pregnancy!!

What I know at 21 weeks!

- You may or may not know that we had been trying to have a baby for quite some time. I guess that is why I wanted to only update everyone on the blog and not facebook with baby news. Facebook was hard. I am pretty sure everyone in the world got pregnant while we were trying. It was discouraging to see others so happy when I wanted a little one more than you could ever imagine! I went in to my doctor and had tests scheduled to start infertility treatments the middle of January. On January 3rd I got a horrendous cold sore and got some medicine to make it go away. I decided to take a pregnancy test just to make sure I was in the clear to take the medication, although I figured that it would be negative like the hundreds I had taken before. On January 4th I took the test and saw two beautiful pink lines. It was the best day ever! And I got to cancel my tests!!

- This has been a pretty easy pregnancy so far, at least I think so! I was the sickest between 6-12 weeks, with the worst of it hitting around 8-10 weeks. I never threw up, but wanted to more times than I can count! There were times that I layed down at night (never was sick in the morning as long as I ate breakfast!) and I literally wanted to die. Funny times!

 - CRAZIEST. DREAMS. EVER. Seriously, every night is an adventure! And I remember all of them even after I wake up!

 - Commercials make me cry. Especially the talking kitty one on HULU and the Olympic Moms one....that one is a duesy.

-Food has a whole new meaning to me now (as if it wasn't important to me back then! HA!) In the beggining I craved breakfast food from my childhood eggos, cereal, and toaster strudles. Along with peanut butter and honey sandwiches. During the sick days, the only thing that made me feel 100% was Indian Food! This baby loves curry! Since I've been feeling better the only thing I really REALLY crave is fruit. If you know me, this sounds insane! I've never loved fruit EVER. I love apples, berries, and melon. I can't get enough! My biggest aversion in the beginning was chocolate (weird) but I started craving it again just in time for Easter Candy...hmmmm. Ovaltine and Otter Pops (only the legit ones) are among my other cravings!

- I am pretty against belly photos, they are way too weird unless you are the most darling pregnant girl alive, which I happen to not be. I will say that my belly just showed up one day, who really knows when, but I was a little sad to see my only good asset (a decent waistline) go to pot. If you know me, I have always struggled with my weight, and struggled with self image, but I am finally getting to the point where I love my belly and love that it means I am going to be a mother! I am so so happy!!

- Apparently my butt is pregnant too. Just call me Kardashian.

 - Maternity clothes are so comfortable! Why don't they make all pants like this???

- I felt the baby move!! It was little at first, and could only feel her when I layed down, but now I feel her throughout the day and after eating otter pops! Ryan has been able to feel tiny little movements, but I am excited for her to get stronger so he can feel her better! He gets so excited! It's so darn cute.

- HOLY BOOBS!!

- Sooooo HOT all. the. time.

- I am pretty sure that I was in a coma for the first 14 weeks of pregnancy, luckily I have gotten more energy back! Who sleeps through New Years Eve????? THIS GIRL!

- I wake up at least 2 times every night to pee. If I don't it feels like my bladder may pop.

- This little girl is going to be a wild one! For our 3 year anniversary I wanted to plan something fun that would be memorable, but something that pregnant me could do too! So I decided to book us to go snowmobiling! It turned out to be a little crazier than I had anticipated (probably because Ryan was driving and I was on the back of the sled!) but was soooo much fun. I was a little worried about the babe afterward...yes, it was that crazy! Luckily we had an ultrasound appointment that same week and got to see our little love doing flips! She was just fine! What can I say, I'm a worry wart already!

Speaking of the love of my life... Look at this darling photo my mom took on Sunday!
We were playing baseball at my brother's house and Amanda was watching, cheering everyone on, when Ryan ran over to Amanda and told her it was her turn to bat. He set up the tee for her and when she hit the ball he took off with her! Don't you just love the look on her face?? Needless to say it was a home run and they raced around the bases! How did I get so lucky?? I am so grateful that I get to keep my amazing devastatingly handsome Ryan love forever and ever. He will be the best dad ever! He makes my heart melt!!

BIG SURPRISE!!!

So we went in to the doctors on Wednesday and got the biggest surprise of our lives!!

It's a baby GIRL!!!!

I, for one, was not expecting this! I can honestly tell you that I am still shocked (SHOCKED I tell you!) and it hasn't even seemed real yet! Like I said before, we were completely convinced that this baby was a boy! Our doctor was heading out to deliver a baby, but was so sweet to check several times for us. Ryan was just smiling and shocked like a deer in headlights. I just sat there with my mouth agape. We are completely thrilled and are sooo excited to meet our sweet baby girl! Honestly, I am a little panicked because I was planning on a boy so much that I haven't even thought of nursery ideas for a baby girl! I feel like I am back at square one, but am so excited to figure it out and get painting!

When we were deciding on how to tell our families, we wanted to make it really fun. I had seen several different ideas but loved the idea of having a cake with white frosting, and having the inside of the cake either blue or pink. That way when our family cut into the cake they would know what we were having! Not to mention that we got to eat cake afterward, which is a total bonus in my book. (Bring on the cake!) Originally, I wanted to get a bakery to make us a cake, but with the serious lack of funds, and major lack of patience (I would not be able to wait a day or two to tell my mom! A few hours was hard enough!) I decided to make my own hideous cake. Don't laugh too hard, it did taste pretty good. How can one go wrong with Rainbow Chip frosting right??

Ryans Fam (minus Matt who is in Hong Kong!)

My Fam (minus the older brother and sister and their families!)

Unfortunately, our camera delay is awful and I didn't get any good surprised face pictures! But just know there was a lot of screaming involved! EVERYONE guessed boy except for my cute little sister Amanda who has said it was a girl all along. She rocks, and we will be going to her for all of our future predicting endeavors.

YAY for baby girl Goodrich! We can't wait to meet you and love you and kiss your sweet little face!!!

Today is the day....

that we find out if we are having a little Hannah or a little Ryan!!! I am so excited that I only slept about an hour last night! It felt like the night before the first day of school. (Yes I was actually excited to go to school back in the day) Ryan has insisted since day one that it is a baby boy. I think he has been watching The Secret too much! I have had dreams about both boys and girls. I thought boy in the beginning, but started having dreams about baby girls (that we still called "he") that would yell at me saying "I'm a girl so stop calling me a boy!" I think the whole dream thing is totally bogus though. I have had some seriously crazy dreams while being pregnant, so I don't feel like I can rely on any of that information! Either way I know that we will both be thrilled!! I am so excited to start decorating the nursery and buying little things here and there. You would be so proud, I haven't bought anything yet!! Okay, I take that back, my mom and I bought the most adorable frame at our favorite consignment store when I first found out I was having a baby. It will be so cute in my girl or boy nursery. Currently it is hanging on my closet door knob and I smile every time I see it! Anyway, I have to go get ready now... EEEEEEEEEEEEK!! I also promise to be better at blogging, I really want to remember this experience!! So are you on Team Pink or Team Blue?????

Once Upon A Time...

I wasn't lame and actually updated my blog. Have I fallen off the face of the earth? Pretty much. I guess that I feel like our lives have not been very exciting and I haven't had the motivation to blog. But, in light of recent events, I think it is time to start back at it. Especially as this is my best effort at keeping a journal! The problem is only where to start. I guess the best way is to update you as briefly as possible on the latest happenings in the Goodrich household.

We still live in our darling bungalow, which we absolutely adore. We still have a few projects on the house, but I guess it just can't be considered a home without a painstakingly large "honey-do" list (sorry babe). We still have our darling little Franklin Beans and Pearl (wiener dogs) despite a nerve wracking (for me.. they, on the other hand, loved it...until it got dark) adventure they had last October.... I still shudder when I think about it. They are still darling as ever and hogging all the space in our bed every night. Ryan still works for TMobile and is running his own store now, which is awesome. He is probably the coolest manager ever. I am still working in the salon but am incredibly busy with wedding hair and makeup clients and Inspiration photoshoots...which I absolutely love! You know what else I love? Mr. Ryan Goodrich. He is pretty fantastic and has the softest elbows of anyone I know. Don't believe me? Feel them the next time you see him! You will undoubtedly agree. We are just having the time of our lives eating good food, finishing eachothers sentences, watching good horror (and other) films. We are happy. Fat and happy!

Not too much has happened in the past year... at least as far as I can remember and judging by the number of photos that we have (or don't have haha) We should probably get better at that. But here is a recap in pictures of 2011...

Once Upon A Time....
It was our 2nd Anniversary. We spent the whole day roaming the streets of Salt Lake City. We found an original copy of Alice in Wonderland that was $400 at an antique book shop. I covet it. I will own it one day. Then we ate at The Melting Pot... which was weird. But the dessert was deliciouso!

Once Upon A Time....
We went on a cruise. It was my Grandparents 50th anniversary so they took everyone to the mexican riviera. It was fantastic!

Ryan bought this womens hat on the beach (thinking it was a mans hat) because his head was hot and he wanted to look like a typical american male d&^%@#bag in mexico

Our one and only excursion.. a boat tour to lovers beach (with free sodas!!) and a delicious lunch at a private beach!

Poseidon's finger

El Arco

Delicious lunch!

Private Beach

Happy Anniversary Grandma Ellie and Grandpa Ray!!

Once Upon A Time....
We went to Disneyland for a day and it was the best day of our life! Seriously though, we both agree that this day might be equal (maybe greater but don't tell anyone) than our wedding day. It was a very last minute decision, but so worth it. While we were riding the tram into the Magic Kingdom I actually cried because I was so happy and excited. I LOVE DISNEYLAND!! I dont think we have ever had more fun than we did this day. We laughed so hard that our faces hurt!!

BEST DAY EVER!!

Once Upon A Time...
It was July.
We went to a firework show at The Canyons in Park City. We even got to ride the lift... (best part!)

Ryan love turned 25! We hiked to Timpanogos Cave (Ryan's request) and my lungs exploded. I dont like caves. But that is one sweet mullet. Afterwards, we went shopping and ate at Ruths Criss. YUMO!

Ryan and brother went skydiving for the big day!!

In October my sisters both competed in pageants! Amanda competed at Ms. Wheelchair Utah and won the community service award and an award for best essay! She was amazing!

Savannah competed at Miss Utah's Outstanding Teen and was absolutely stunning!! She was a top five finalist for the Teens in Action Award!

2011 was a great year and we are looking forward to another amazing one!!

The Ry Guy

This post is an Ode to my love. It was Ryan's birthday on July 14th, the big 25.. and so babe, this one is for you. (If you are reading this and are not my husband, you may want to have the barf bag ready, as there may be some mushy material ahead, or possibly some things you would rather not have known.)

Although my list is somewhat endless, here are just a few reasons why I love Ryan!

*Ryan tickles my back sometimes in the middle of the night for no reason.

*He insists that I buy fruit snacks and puts a handful in my purse every Sunday. I never know they are there until I hear the crinkling of wrappers in the middle of a boring talk.

*If super mario had toes, they would be Ryan's.

*Not only does he look/act like a little kid, but it takes me at least 20 minutes and a couple of my famous good morning songs to get him out of bed.

*On the contrary, he wakes up at the crack of dawn every Saturday morning to watch cartoons... the funny part is that we don't have TV so he watches them on hulu.com or Netflix (which they are available 24 hours a day)

*He laughs at my jokes.

*He doesn't laugh at my dance moves, but will automatically come up with an even worse dance move, which then turns into a goodrich dance party.

*This sometimes happens in the aisles at the grocery store.

* Ryan takes safety seriously...sometimes.

* Ryan is easily entertained...and entertaining.

* He kisses me goodbye every morning, even if I'm asleep.

* He says things like "Jolly Christmas" and "Hen scratching mother lovin" in lieu of swear words...most times.

* He lets me paint his toenails and do his hair when we are bored.

* He cried the day before we got married because he didn't want to leave his mom.

* He invents weird food like pickle sushi, which is actually quite fantastic. (this is not pickle sushi)

* He lets me pick his zits sometimes as long as he is playing a video game simultaneously.

* Ryan is deathly afraid of spiders.

* Ryan has every episode ever made of Thundercats. ever.

* He has nice legs.

* We have the same distorted and disturbing taste in movies.

* He has read more books than me...for fun! Ok he actually listens to more books than he reads.

* He rocks the Mullet so well.

* He gags every time he brushes his teeth.

* He cooks.

* He easily socializes with the video game/trekkie/dungeons and dragons/everything nerdy ever created kids.

* It takes him nearly 20 minutes to shower because of all the hair product he uses, which by the way he uses way more than me.

* He was my very first real crush EVER in elementary school.

* He has an interesting taste in music, and likes lady gaga even more than I do!!

* We like to look like ragamuffins together.

* He sings really loud, and makes up words to most songs but pretends like he knows what he is talking about.. Something about bannana pancakes.. la la la.

* He is an amazing example and a strong priesthood holder.

* We have way to many inside jokes, it's probably not healthy. And there's a great
salt lake...

* He is the most even tempered person I've ever known.

* He is full of useless facts and information.

* Our kids will probably look like him.

* He is happy, lighthearted, and energetic ALL of the time.

* We don't share food very well, more specifically desserts. It is a fight to the bitter end!

* He likes to mosh pit?

* Ryan is a scary driver and kills us almost everyday. He usually says that he is disoriented by my beauty...what a guy!

* He is a really good dad to Franklin Beans and Pearl.

* I love Ryan. I shall call him squishy, and he shall be mine, and he shall be my squishy.

Happy UNbirthday sexy man!!
