....and not in a sexy way. Truth is I am a bit of a whale but I am doing my best to just embrace my changing body! And Ryan is doing his best to lie to me and tell me how darling I look every day. LOVE HIM! Also, my temperature is going through the roof! It isn't even May yet! This will be a long HOT summer, but I am looking forward to every minute of it! We are doing great and are so excited for our baby girl to come! This post is a little delayed, I had every intention of posting it on my halfway mark (20 weeks along last Saturday) but I got sidetracked and had to much fun with my mom shopping for baby girl! So here is my list of funny things that I have noticed thus far in my pregnancy!!
What I know at 21 weeks!
- You may or may not know that we had been trying to have a baby for quite some time. I guess that is why I wanted to only update everyone on the blog and not facebook with baby news. Facebook was hard. I am pretty sure everyone in the world got pregnant while we were trying. It was discouraging to see others so happy when I wanted a little one more than you could ever imagine! I went in to my doctor and had tests scheduled to start infertility treatments the middle of January. On January 3rd I got a horrendous cold sore and got some medicine to make it go away. I decided to take a pregnancy test just to make sure I was in the clear to take the medication, although I figured that it would be negative like the hundreds I had taken before. On January 4th I took the test and saw two beautiful pink lines. It was the best day ever! And I got to cancel my tests!!
- This has been a pretty easy pregnancy so far, at least I think so! I was the sickest between 6-12 weeks, with the worst of it hitting around 8-10 weeks. I never threw up, but wanted to more times than I can count! There were times that I layed down at night (never was sick in the morning as long as I ate breakfast!) and I literally wanted to die. Funny times!
- CRAZIEST. DREAMS. EVER. Seriously, every night is an adventure! And I remember all of them even after I wake up!
- Commercials make me cry. Especially the talking kitty one on HULU and the Olympic Moms one....that one is a duesy.
-Food has a whole new meaning to me now (as if it wasn't important to me back then! HA!) In the beggining I craved breakfast food from my childhood eggos, cereal, and toaster strudles. Along with peanut butter and honey sandwiches. During the sick days, the only thing that made me feel 100% was Indian Food! This baby loves curry! Since I've been feeling better the only thing I really REALLY crave is fruit. If you know me, this sounds insane! I've never loved fruit EVER. I love apples, berries, and melon. I can't get enough! My biggest aversion in the beginning was chocolate (weird) but I started craving it again just in time for Easter Candy...hmmmm. Ovaltine and Otter Pops (only the legit ones) are among my other cravings!
- I am pretty against belly photos, they are way too weird unless you are the most darling pregnant girl alive, which I happen to not be. I will say that my belly just showed up one day, who really knows when, but I was a little sad to see my only good asset (a decent waistline) go to pot. If you know me, I have always struggled with my weight, and struggled with self image, but I am finally getting to the point where I love my belly and love that it means I am going to be a mother! I am so so happy!!
- Apparently my butt is pregnant too. Just call me Kardashian.
- Maternity clothes are so comfortable! Why don't they make all pants like this???
- I felt the baby move!! It was little at first, and could only feel her when I layed down, but now I feel her throughout the day and after eating otter pops! Ryan has been able to feel tiny little movements, but I am excited for her to get stronger so he can feel her better! He gets so excited! It's so darn cute.
- HOLY BOOBS!!
- Sooooo HOT all. the. time.
- I am pretty sure that I was in a coma for the first 14 weeks of pregnancy, luckily I have gotten more energy back! Who sleeps through New Years Eve????? THIS GIRL!
- I wake up at least 2 times every night to pee. If I don't it feels like my bladder may pop.
- This little girl is going to be a wild one! For our 3 year anniversary I wanted to plan something fun that would be memorable, but something that pregnant me could do too! So I decided to book us to go snowmobiling! It turned out to be a little crazier than I had anticipated (probably because Ryan was driving and I was on the back of the sled!) but was soooo much fun. I was a little worried about the babe afterward...yes, it was that crazy! Luckily we had an ultrasound appointment that same week and got to see our little love doing flips! She was just fine! What can I say, I'm a worry wart already!
Speaking of the love of my life... Look at this darling photo my mom took on Sunday!
We were playing baseball at my brother's house and Amanda was watching, cheering everyone on, when Ryan ran over to Amanda and told her it was her turn to bat. He set up the tee for her and when she hit the ball he took off with her! Don't you just love the look on her face?? Needless to say it was a home run and they raced around the bases! How did I get so lucky?? I am so grateful that I get to keep my amazing devastatingly handsome Ryan love forever and ever. He will be the best dad ever! He makes my heart melt!!
